Vandenberg 3D Shoot

FYI, I have set up a low key 3D shoot at the Vandenberg AFB Rod & Gun Club. The next event is the 15th of June. Sign in is at 9 a.m. By low key, cost is $10 (sorry no pay outs), minimal rules, basically come out shoot at animals at various yardages, have fun, practice yardage estimation, and compete against you friends. There are 5 classes, with sub-classes of each, to fit about every type of bow set up.

If you do not have access to the base, call the Rod & Gun Club at 805-606-4560 and tell the person you'd like to get on the access letter for this event. The rquired information will be:
1) Name as it appears on your driver's license
2) Driver's license number
3) Date of birth.

You will have to stop at the visitor center to get your one day limited base pass. Limited means you do not have permission to drive all over VAFB. All requests for access need to be at the Rod & Gun Club before noon, 11 June.

June 15 will be the last VAFB 3D event due to:
1) Poor turn out (too much work for just 5-6 people)
2) Hunting Season is upon us
3) Whining/complaining from some shotgunners about closing the skeet/trap fields.

If I get enough actual interest, I may start it back up next year.

that sucks, wasnt into archery when i was growing up there. If i wasnt gonna head up there and visit my parents the weekend before that i woulda hit it up for some fun. but ill be there the week before. I woulda thought there would be more participation from people in that area???
