QDMA Seeks Qualified Candidates for Associate Editor Position

The Quality Deer Management Association (QDMA) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of associate editor of Quality Whitetails magazine, the bi-monthly membership journal of QDMA.
Job Description: The associate editor will assist in editorial planning and research, work with freelance writers and photographers, and write feature articles and other content. Additionally, the associate editor will work with the Communications Department staff in the planning, design and production of other publications, including books, booklets, posters and other educational and promotional materials.
Qualifications: A qualified candidate must have a bachelor?s degree in journalism or a related communications field. The candidate will have excellent writing, editing, research and reporting skills, and photography skills are desirable. Preferably, the candidate will have experience as a freelance writer or staff member of an outdoor publication. Skill with desktop publishing software such as QuarkXpress or InDesign in the Mac platform is desirable. In addition, the candidate must have extensive deer hunting experience, and the ideal candidate will also have experience with and knowledge of the Quality Deer Management (QDM) philosophy.
Salary Range: Competitive entry-level salary (negotiable depending on experience), plus benefits.
Location: QDMA National Headquarters in Athens, Georgia.
