Well I finally got my Omega muzzleloader. I had plans of mounting
a 3x9 Weaver on it but the scope is too long and so the objective
wants to rest right on top of the rear sight. I plan on hunting in two
states, one allows scopes the other does not, so I would like to keep
my rear sight mounted so I can just remove the scope and know it
will still be sighted in.
I've looked at several scopes( in catalogs ) and narrowed the choices
down to a few. It has to be in the eleven inch range to work.

Heres what I found :

Leupold VXII 2x7........$243

Sightron II Compact 2x7 or 3x9.........$203

Nikon Monarch 2X7 ........$236

B&L Elite 3200 2x7..........$189

Without me being able to compare them what would you all recommend?

I went through a big search to find the right 2-7 or 2-10 scope for a combo 12 ga 30-06. It was tough, but I ended up with the Leupold given the eye relief (over 4 inches), I am not into a black eye. I selected the VX I, but was also seriously considering the Burris Signature 2-10 and the Bushnell 4200 2-10.

Good Luck Doug

Doug, I ended up going with the Leupold, mainly for the reason you stated about the eye relief and the fact that I know it can stand up to heavy recoil. My last ML was a real thumper but the recoil on the Omega shooting T 777 is nothing.Amazing!

My Nikon 3 x 9 is the best scope I have ever bought for the money. The optics are clear and have had no eye relief problems w/ my ML. I have shot well over 200 rounds through my Remington Inline with this scope and have no problems. You might want to consider a diffrent mount so that the rear sight isn't a problem.
