More than 33,000 acres were added to the wildlife management area (WMA) system at the February Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission meeting on Wednesday. The six new WMAs will provide additional recreational activities for the outdoor enthusiast.
Check the link above. There is a new one in your area Arrowhead. This coming season would be the year to put in to hunt it.

MJL >> Thanks. I heard rumors of this. All I can tell you is I will be applying every year I can.
I have a freind who has been in a bowhunting club on the western border of this property for the past 10 years. Actually a guy in his club traded 40acres outside of hachett creek for 20 acres inside this new wma. sweet.

So is it a good area? I thought about putting in for it also. 20 acres inside the WMA is a goldmine.

If you put and and get drawn and decide not to go, let me know.
I don't believe it's been hunted in quite a few years. And when it was it was a bow hunting club.

I just looked at it on Google Earth. I will be putting in! Got some pretty good looking woods. If I get drawn and cannot use it I will give it to you. From looking at Google I have already got spots picked out.
