Lanai Axis season... we got 7th week!

Hey guys, just got my cards in the mail last week. our group got drawn for the 7th week of 9, and we'll be hunting on april 26 and 27. i dont think im gonna be looking strictly for trophy this time, more like whatever steps in front of my barrel, hehe. been a while since i had some nice axis meat in the freezer, so we're looking forward to this hunt weekend, for sure.
im debating taking my 7mm mag (my usual rifle) or using my old man's sako .270. still unsure on which caliber i want to shoot, but im leaning towards taking the 7mm just cause i shoot the gun so well, and i know if i hit it, its going down...soon! the .270 is actually the more accurate rifle, shooting 1/2" groups at 100, but it's also heavier (medium barreled) than my 7mm.
any reccomendations?

I suggest hanging out next to the horse pasture and sending an un-armed partner in to flush them out. They&#39;ll all be bunched up in there.

i was figuring that they&#39;d be higher in the non hunting areas that late in the season, and will plan accordingly. we seen tons of deer everywhere we went while hunting sheep, but then again that was the first week.. LOL. we&#39;ll see how it goes.

no need buy, already get one of those. havent shot it in ages though!!! looking forward to this trip though, thats for sure.
