URGENT LEGISLATIVE ALERT!
HELP STOP AB496 & SB682
CALL THE GOVERNOR OR YOUR SENATOR TODAY
AB496 passed the Assembly and is now on the Governoršs Desk. Please call the
Governoršs Office at 916-445-2841 and politely urge the Governor to VETO
this bill. The Governoršs Fax# is 916-445-4633 and his e-mail address is
governor@governor.ca.gov . Let the Governor know that criminals should be
responsible for their own actions and that this bill only harms those who
already follow Californiašs very strict gun laws.
SB682 is back in the Senate and can be heard and voted on at anytime. Please
use this link http://www.leginfo.ca.gov/yourleg.html to find the phone
number for you local State Senator and politely urge them to vote NO on this
bill.
Californiašs gun owners must act immediately to STOP these two bills. AB496
and SB682 threaten the lawful manufacturers and dealers of firearms and
ammunition. These two bills are designed to strip firearms manufacturers of
current protection in state law granting them limited statutory immunity
from being sued when guns are misused. Our enemies in this fight are the
usual anti-gun activists, including Handgun Control, Inc. and the Million
Mom March. These groups want nothing more than the complete and total
destruction of our firearms heritage and view the passage of SB 682 and AB
496 as one more way to reach their goal.
If either of these bills pass, gun dealers in California will be litigated
out of business and Californiašs gun owners will pay the ultimate price;
either there will be no dealers left in business to sell them guns or those
few who do remain will be forced to charge outrageous prices in order to
fight off the onslaught of frivolous lawsuits.
Again, please exercise your rights to participate in your Government and
contact the Governor or your State Senator today.
We thank all of you who have worked hard and made phone calls on these bills
that threaten our rights as shooters, hunters, consumers and small business
owners. Your willingness to commit to this effort in making your Government
work for you is the key to our chances of success.
