###Would you turn over your guns?
###If not what would you do to keep them?
###What about Ammo?
###If so would you turn them all over or just those guns they know about?
###How would you hide your guns?

I have to stop looking at the hot issues board. We had that exact same conversation in 1992-2001 here in Canada.
Everyone says they will hide them in a special closet, a secret floor board area etc. but you know what it was easier to register them. I hated it but eithere that or fear of conviction. When they said ammo spot checks were introduced I registered. Ammo checks are when you must register that you purchased ammo. The feds look in the stores book and do house spot checks for safe storage and unregistered.

What a drag. ###There is a continual push to have our guns registered like cars. ###The liberal left is always pushing and saying "if you need to register you car, then you should have to register you gun." ###I hate to say it.... but I am afraid something like that is coming.

If they want me to register my handguns then I want to be able to carry them anywhere in the state or country.

I second that karstic. I'd register it when I'm allowed to carry it!!!

I was playing around on the web and found the WayBackMachine. It had an old picture I had of Bart during the election. This is Bart's stand on the Second Amendment. http://web.archive.org/web/20001120085100/http://cctrap.com/~varmint/politicalbart.gif

I don't agree with the Canadian fellow. In Canada, the let the liberals gain control. We don't have to do that here in the States. Long Live the Second Amendment...

All they would be doing by taking away firearms would be to create an underground market for them. ###Like Heston said, they can take my gun when they pry it from my cold, dead hand.
Karstic, on the carry issue, isnt the OC sheriff still giving out concealed permits? ###I know he was giving them out pretty liberally for a while. ###Of course its hard to get a permit for a gun that is not registered.

Foulshot,

The rumors that I have heard and this is all heresay is that if you know the sheriff well ($) you might be able to get a permit. ###Seeing that I may soon be a resident of OC (living and working) i will have to look into it a little more thoroughly.

Two good ways to make sure we don't wind up like Canada , England, and Austrailia 1. Contribute to the NRA, andnot just rewnewing your membership. 2.Vote, Vote ,Vote!! The person running for dog catcher could be running for Gov. a few years down the road. $upport the people who you want to be elected. The Anti's dump large amounts of money into the campains of those they want to get elected. And don't wait for the other guy to do what you should be doing.(see 1&2)

Brad I agree with you.
The next most important thing is to encourage young people to hunt. If young folks grow up to be respectful of hunters and what we satnd for then maybe when the become the politicians they will have a better understanding. Don't wait until they say time to register and then hide, stand up first!

Stever,

I have never heard of or seen a "ammo check",When I buy ammo I can still show most of those morons in stores my FAC(FIREARMS ACQUISITION CERTIFICATE) ###that expired 5 years ago. I have my new P.A.L(possesion and acquisiton license), but they don't know what to look for anyway.

you guys across the line check this law out

You must have a p.o.l(possesion only license) or p.a.l (possesion and acquistion license) to purchase factory ammunition. You need nothing to go into same store and buy any kind of gun powder you like.

Do whatever it takes not to end up like us

GUN CONTROL= HITTING WHAT YOU AIM AT

I would registar the ammo if it was convienent. As far as turning in a gun that I bought or inherited; I would rather be a criminal.

On gun control. First lets get over this paranoia about them taking your guns away and start using a little common sense. Jerks like the guy in KY who was trying to out draw the snowman or people who leave a gun where a kid gets ahold of it and shoots himself or another child are the biggest enemies you have. As hunters and sportsmen you are responsible gun owners. Instead of the NRA fighting for more gun ownership they should want more educated gun owners

outlaw,

How can you call it paranoia when you look at all the other countries that started out by just registering handguns.Look where Canada and Australia are today.

In Canada they can take your handgun if you can't prove to them that you use it at a range a certain amount every year.If you can't prove it they take it and tell you you didn't need it anyways.

It started out "just registering" so that the govt.knew where all the guns were.

davered1- maybe paranoia wasn't the right word. To me there are 3 types of gun owner, the hunter and sportsmen, the jerks who think guns are big noisy toys, and the criminals. Its unfortunate that the last two ruin it for everyone. The criminal will get a gun no matter what. As for the jerks they need to excersise common sense before shooting at telephone poles or playing with a loaded gun. They probably give the anti-gun people more ammo than anyone. Its up to the sportsman and hunter to try and get some control over the others or it will be Canada or Australia all over again

The majority of the funds the NRA collects ARE used for education and training.Go to NRA.org and look it up. Travel around to some of the Anti gun pages on the web. check out what they are doing to make life misrable for us. It will suprise you . All of there funds go to take our rights away . And Vote!! Not just for politicans but for judges ! when was the last time you checked out a judges stand on guns?
