Anthony Licata Named Editor Of Field & Stream

New York, New York—Eric Zinczenko, Group Publisher of the Bonnier Corporation's Outdoor Group, today announced the appointment of Anthony Licata as the new Editor of Field & Stream. Formerly Deputy Editor of Field & Stream, Licata, 33, succeeds Sid Evans. The appointment is effective immediately.
"Anthony is the ideal leader for the Field & Stream brand," said Zinczenko. "He's a very talented editor and a total outdoorsman who is passionate hunter and fisherman. Since his start here in 1998, he's been responsible for many of the integrated programs, cover packages and ideas that have helped Field & Stream maintain our number one position within the market we serve."
Licata brings a strong background as a men's magazine editor, as well as a lifelong love of hunting and fishing, to his new position. He joined Field & Stream in 1998 as an Associate Editor and quickly moved through the ranks to Senior Editor in 2000, and was promoted to Deputy Editor in 2006. Licata, who will be the fifteenth Editor in the history of the magazine, received recognition from the American Society of Magazine Editor's in 2007 when Sportsman's Notebook, which he edits, was nominated for a National Magazine Award for Magazine Section. During his tenure as Deputy Editor, the 112 year-old magazine also received its first nomination for General Excellence in 2007. Licata has also served as the on-air host for the magazine's television show, The Total Outdoorsman Challenge, which aired on Versus as a three-part special in 2007 and as vignettes in 2006.
"For more then 100 years Field & Stream has been an essential tool for sportsmen and a powerful advocate for the outdoor lifestyle," said Licata. A native of Dimock, Pennsylvania, Licata developed an early passion for hunting and fishing that he pursued with his father and brothers. Currently a Norwood, New Jersey resident, he spends every spare moment hunting and fishing in Pennsylvania and upstate New York. He is a graduate of the University of Scranton.
