poor mans double ????

Anyone have any information on converting 12 ga. SxS doubles to fire the 50-140 sharps? I actuialy had a sample in my hands the other day but don't know who did the work or what the base gun was. The reciever was a silver color, rest of gun was blued the only markings I could see was liberty and 12 ga. 3". The barrel assy. Looks like it had been sleeved, cut down, and had express sights installed.

There was a guy on the western slope in Co. doing those conversions a few years ago. He fitted and regulated his barrels on shotgun actions. They were great looking rifles and I recall almost buying one so they could not have been too terribly expensive. I saw him at several gun shows in Delta, Montrose and Grand Junction. I have dug through all my crap and cannot find any contact info on him and damned if I can recall his name. I will keep looking, but someone out there is doing it.
