Wow been going there since I was a tyke and the Eastern Sierras never get boring, even in pictures.

The first pic looks like Lake Mary.

Actually I think it is Twin Lakes (the lower one),but I could be wrong.I really like the terrain over there,I can't wait to go back

The first picture is Lake Mamie. ###As you drive up the Mammoth Lakes Loop out of town, you first pass Mammoth Twin Lakes, then climb up past Lake Mary on your left, to Lake Mamie, on the left. ###I have many pictures of Lake Mamie with that same singular peak in the foreground of the ridgeline. ###I'll bet you took that picture right off the bridge between Lake Mamie and the waterfall down to Twin Lakes -- right Bucksnort?

Actually it's the lower Twin Lake.I pulled of the road to the right and took the picture from the little pullout. There sure is some great scenery on the east slope of the Sierra's.

Nice pics, we're going for a five day trip into the wind rivers tomorrow, and then four or five more days in the gros ventre. Maybe you could tell me how to get some of my pics on this site.

AJ,

Check out the thread at the top of this forum on how to post pictures.Jesse explaines it better than I could.Just remember that you have to put your pics into .jpeg files. You then download them into a websight that holds your pictures (I use http://www.imagestation.com) once they are downloaded you copy and paste the location into your post. ###first you have to put an icon tag infront and behind it.Here is an example ### your image location here

Did I confuse you yet? ###It sounds hard, but once you do it a couple times it's cake.I'll be looking forward to seeing your pictures.

Let me know if you need help.

My example didn't work.

Click on the help button on the top, then click the Ikoncode tag button. For pictures you use the img tag.

Great, sharp camera work Bucksnort, now I know exactly where you were -- nice sharp picture from that range. ###Mamie Lake would be right over the far tree line directly toward that single peak. ###Did you continue further up that road and cruise the whole loop there? ###All of those lakes are beautiful and hold great trout all season long.
