This is a remote “Live Action Deer Cam”. The color mini cam runs off of a 9-volt transistor battery or a 12 battery. It depends on what unit you purchase. This remote cam uses a 9 volt transistor battery in a pelican 1020 case with a LN camo texture finish. I wanted something small. Max range is approximately 300 yards from my viewing station.

The viewing station is a DVD player in a pelican 1300 case. The viewing station runs off of it’s own battery pack for 3 to 4 hours or a secondary 7 amp hour battery that I have below a mid level platform that I installed in the case. The tuner mounted on the case lid will allow you to tune in more that one remote mini cam set up.

I was up in the arctic last spring, doing wolverine track surveys. My partner and I came upon a wolverine den, and I just so happend to have a cam along for the ride.

There' wasn't much to work with out there, as far as trying to find something to attach the camera to, so we had to improvise, and use a couple pieces of plywood, wedged into the snow bank.

I was a bit wooried about the wolverine messing with my cam, and although I was willing to sacrifice a few chew marks, I didn't want the wolverine to take it down into the den. So we tied a long rope to the camera and ran it up the bank, and tied it to a large boulder.

Luckily enough the wolverine didn't touch the cam at all, and I ended up with some great pictures!
