For general hunting purposes, which is better---a lower let off or a higher one? ###What are the pros and cons for each? ###I'm ignorant on this matter and would appreciate any advice. ###Thanks.

###85% is better if your not worried about putting a trophy in the books, you will be able to hold it back longer,But if you have anything over 65% letoff you cannot put it in the P&Y books.I personally dont give a daggum about the books,i would like to have one on my wall big enough to make the books but i dont care to enter one at all.
###Its up to you.

A finger shooter is supposed to shoot better with 65% or less.

As a Trophy Hunter, For me its about the Books. I shoot at 65% Let off. Holding more weight stabilizes me better and Locks me into a shooting position, drawback is how long you can hold the draw. at 65% letoff you should easilly be able to hold for 60 seconds.
I suggest you try Both and determine for yourself what you are more comfortable with. But if a Trophy Hunter We at Pope and Young will not Recognize it. But to many that does'nt matter. and we respect that as well..
Best of Luck to you!
