My buddy was ready to drop a quick grand on a complete bow setup for hunting.
Hi-Tec basically told him if he even wanted to pull a bow they needed 100 down payment!!!
treated him like an inexperienced greenhorn ,which he was NOT.
So much for Hi-Tec making half thier rent in one afternoon.

I happened upon Red Stagg Archery in Fountain Valley before they were open a few months ago. ###I was headed over to Turner's and saw the "Open Soon" signs at Red Stagg. ###As I was peering in the windows one of the owners invited me in. ###We chatted for a bit and I mentioned that it will be nice to have another shop in the area other than Hi-Tec. ###I said I hadn't been real happy with the way I was treated the couple of times I'd been in there. ###Red Stagg's guy laughed a little and said it was hearing comments like that from quite a number of people that convinced them that there would be an opportunity for another shop in the area.
So far, everyone I've recommended Red Stagg to has been pleased with the way they were treated.
That's funny...In regards to Red Stagg, I felt that the guy helping me (I think his name was Mike, but that is really a guess) was really pushy. I wasn't comfortable with him at all. Later that day I happened upon Hi-Tech and I got a lot of help from them. They let me try a couple of different bows with no questions asked, other than what was I looking to do with the bow, ie hunt, target...It is my opinion though that they really push the compounds more than anything else. I frequent the shop often and always get a constructive response to my questions.
I have no problem with Red Stagg, I just feel more comfortable at Hi-tech. But that is how it works, some people shop here, some people shop there. It all works out in the end. I am just glad there are a couple of stores in the area.
I am in no way implying that Red Stagg is not a great shop, please don't get me wrong.
