A new report from the National Safety Council shows that accidental firearm-related fatalities remain at record lows, and accidents involving youths continue to decline significantly.

Numbers lie. There may be more guns than there use to be; but they are used less often. It is not PC to allow kids to hunt without close parental supervision(if at all).
Lot fewer hours in the field, so accidents go down.
Hunting is a pretty safe pastime. It is a shame many kids can't enjoy firearms.
