I gave the Agua Tibia Wilderness area a try over the weekend. ###Things were VERY dry there. ###I don't think I'd go back unless it was the December season in the hopes there's more moisture. ###But even then your options are EXTREMELY limited with the thick brush in the area.

Hunted Palomar Saturday. ###Jumped a nice buck in the morning. ###Blew my one chance. ###Nothing more to report. ###Only 6 deer taken since opening day. ###Some guys don't even see deer so I feel OK. ###I'll be wiser in December.

I've hunted A22, missed a forked horn the first week. Darn deer walked up while I was taking a leak in a little hole I dug. Somewhere between getting my fly zipped and pulling back on the bow, I looked at the wrong pin and over shot! Oh well at least I got to see him. I let 6 doe walk by before he came. All up in the Julian Area.

Hey Bohunter7. ###Do you know about Fry Creek? ###I've heard this is bow only. ###This could be hunted now with a D16 tag with no gun hunters. ###Also, do you know if you can hunt Laguna Rec area with a D16 tag during rifle season?

UHunter, I'm also looking to hunting this area come the beginning of DEC. ###I've been talking to a couple of people that hunt the area up near Palomar and they tell me the DOES are there, but they haven't seen a BUCK

i have seen 3 bucks this year already and have heard of a couple more. They are out there but are extremely hard to come by. That and a lot of luck helps out.

sdbower, I went up to fry creek to check it out about a month ago. U can only hunt with a bow, and must be at least 150 yards outside the camp, or 150 yards off the trails before you can take a shot. The ###ranger told me there are some water holes hidden in there, but wasnt sure exactly where. It looked good but I havent really scouted yet. ###If you go back down the mountain to mile maker 6, I saw another bow hunter in there on public land. Its called love valley I think, But im not sure how ther hunting is in there either. Im usually in Julian. I was thinking about trying Palomar though, just to hit a new area.

Just moved my stand to another location this past weekend. Not a whole lot of buck sign but there were a lot of does tracks everywhere and the rut should be getting going here in about three weeks or so. I'll be up scouting this weekend also. I can show you guys some areas where they have been seen. I would like to see any bowhunter take bucks from my area. It should be a team effort anyhow. Silent and deadly is the only way to go. Be safe.
