One tag filled - FINALLY!

Took a nice doe Sunday morning about 6:30. I watched her come out of a timber about 1/2 mile away, she followed the waterway right up to the stand I was in at another timber edge. Kept hoping to see a buck come out and follow her but none appeared. I had about a 10 yard broadside shot. She ended up about 40 yards away. I have seen several nice bucks chasing does but its been so warm here they just don't seem to be in the timber. Friday starts the first weekend of shotgun deer season so hopefully I will see them again and have a bit more range than with my bow!

I think that the crappy acorn crop is keeping them out of the timber too. Seems that they are lying mostly in the fields and eating the wasted corn in the fields in the evening and night time hours.

Remember that any deer taken with a bow is still a trophy!
