Well, I missed a 4x4 by underestimating it's distance...shot over it's back and a huntin' buddy nailed a 4x4 at 30 yds. ###I also caught a hog blacktail on film. ###I bet he was around 25 inches wide and also tall but the video didn't turn out very well...captured some shots off the video and posted below.

The big one...not the best pics but he was about 200 yds away from me and I wasn't holding the camera very still...biggest blacktail I've seen in my life.

Great job wmidbrook!

That second one does have a nice spread for sure. You got a dandy too.

Sounds like ya'll had a good weekend, Bill. ###

Was this up at your friend's place? ###I'm getting stoked all over for the B-zone opener! ###

Hey Speckmisser, ###yes, that was at my friend's ranch where rifle hunting isn't a challenge...we saw quite a few pig and deer over the weekend. ###I had an unsuccessfull stalk on what I thought was 5 bucks feeding...climbed up a mountain after spotting them, then snuck down behind a ridgeline with the wind in my favor and stuck towards them...then I got a 71 yd reading on a smaller forky in the bunch. ###He moved uphill a bit and so I decided to try to intercept the bachelor group. ###I went up and around. ###As I slowly approached a wall of greasebrush, 5 bucks exploded from the other side of it down the canyon and up the other side of a hill. ###I then said 'shoot' and proceeded to walk normally out of there...as I rounded the corner of the 'hedge', 2 more bucks including a dandy 3x3 darned near bowled me over....live and learn...

Yupp, that's one I'm still learning... can't quit hunting until game's on the ground. ###

More than once I got mad because I got busted or jumped my game, then walked right into more animals without being prepared. ###That's probably cost me more shots than anything else. ###

You heading back up soon?

I won't make it back up there for a couple of weeks since my wife's birthday is next weekend. ###If my wife were a hunter, my priorities would definately be different...

Anywho, noone's hunting the place with a rifle and only up to 2 more bucks will be harvested off the place this year. ###The filmed bruiser is offlimits since he's seeding great genetics...already more 4x4s this year than last.
