Anyone else view threads on some of the gun sites, especially AR15.com. I frequently see demeaning remarks about hunters. They call us Fudds and talk like none of has a clue about shooting or military style weapons.
I think all gun owners should back one another. Heck I don't make fun of their uber tactical gear and mall ninja style gear. I even let their "I almost had to draw down" stories go.
Now where is that wascaly wabbit.

Divide and conquer.....just what the anti's want. It's even worse when we divide ourselves. Archery vs. rifle hunters, trad. muzzleloaders vs. inline, fair chase vs. high fence.....
Can't we all just get along.

Get some thicker skin and enjoy it for what it's worth... entertainment.
Personally, I think it's a hoot when some wanna-be "2 Fast, 2 Furious" punk suburbanite 19 year old kid posts on AR-15.com that he was about to "break leather" with his Airsoft pistol because someone was "diss'n" him. I'm sorry, but if that kids gets himself shot (and I'm talking fo-real shot, not with plastic Airsoft pellets) by pulling a toy because someone called him a name, it was meant to be.

The American Revelution was won in part by a bunch of "fuds" who hunted to provide for thier family and had to take on a profesional military...

I had to laugh at the thought that hunters don't know how to shoot a military rifle. I packed a GAU and an M-16 through three different conflicts, Viet Nam was the first, and used them when I had to. I'm alive and I'm here so I must have some skill with military weapons. The other part of this is that I have shot against more than a few vets who are deadly with whatever firearm you put in their hands. Then we get to the non-vets. I've never had a chance to shoot with most of them. I'm one person and they are millions. It would be absolute and pure arrogance for anyone to even pretend to know how all these people shoot. It would be childish stupidity to make a claim that none of them know how to shoot a military weapon.
If these boys haven't lived long enough to learn how to read between the lines I just called them arrogant and stupid.
The military trains tens of thousands of people each year in the art of shooting military weapons. This has been going on for the last hundred or so years in this country. If you only look at the vets under 60 years old, that still leaves several million who have been through the training. Many of these are avid hunters and have also passed their skills on to other family members.
I think the folks on that site need to figure out why God gave them 2 ears and one mouth.

Thicker skin? Boy you sure don't know me. It would take a 458 Win Mag just to put a dent in me. The purpose of my post was to enlighten you to how the gun only non hunters view us.

I am 47 years old and I grew up on Bugs Bunny cartoons. It was my favorite, and the Elmer and Bugs episodes were the best. Ever notice how much care Elmer took to be a sportsman and to follow game laws? And frankly the quarry getter the better of the hunter approximates life most of the time and is the way it is supposed to be. That is why they call us "hunters". That crowd are just "shooters". There is a lot more to being a hunter than just a shooter.
Elmer to me represents a simpler time, a better time, a more honest and respectable time. Even today, if I am flipping channels and come across a Bugs Bunny cartoon, I will pause and watch an episode. For a few minutes, I can relive a bit of my childhood. Heck, I will wear the title of "Fudd" proudly.

Well, I'm a Fudd. And them fellers who play with the big toys probably think I am wierd, but that don't bother me at all(cause I think most of them are wierd).
Myself, I think it is silly to want an AK47, .50 cal rifle, or that military stuff --- but if you want it, that's your business. As long as your not using the weapons improperly, it is none of my business what's in your safe.
To each his own.

I'm a FUDD...but I want AK-47's and 50 BMG rifles too! http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/banana-man-yeah.gif
Most of my guns are for hunting but shooting is just too much fun not to enjoy some military guns also.
These people who insult hunters are just arrogant imbeciles. People who are arrogant often belittle or attack what they don’t know. Being ignorant about hunting, they feel they have to attack hunters by calling them "backward hay-seeds" etc.
It’s a shame they act like that.

Be more concerned about the tree huggin liberals and the anti-gun politicians....they are the ones you really have to worry about.

As it has been said, dont even sweat the hype. get a laugh out of it and maybe some fun posting back a little informed trash talk.
Most of the sites like ar15.com and the tactical shotgun sites are frequented by whackjob teeny boppers who could not even afford the guns the sites are designed to blog. They usually slap together some discount used street trash arms and walmart plastic accessories with a can of black spray paint and start talking trash not much more, not much less than that.
You usually dont see the regulars coming up with BS like that... anybody that knows better would not touch the topic - so take it for what it is worth. "Trash talk"
