Picked my son up from school yesterday and went out to Frenchman's Flats with one of his friends and his dad. ###I think that the stock truck must have been there about 5 minutes before we got there because these little 5 year old kids were pulling fish in left and right. ###I think that they caught three before I could even get my flyrod put together. ###We all managed a few fish and hits on almost every other cast. ###We came home with a bag full of 10-12" stockers that they both had to show their moms and eat the next day.
After that we stopped for a burger at the local range on the way home and the kids got to see the life sized african lion on top of a life sized zebra kill and the life sized leopard chasing two life sized baboons up a 10' tall tree with a couple of jackals on the other side (I couldn't imagine the taxidermy bill). ###They got to see a bunch of clay pigeons shot and finally, the highlight... ###My son got to hold one of the little Rogue Rifle Chipmunks, a little (really little) .22 single shot that he's been talking about for the past year non stop.
Ever seen a kid smile when he's asleep?
