I hope this is the place to post this question...I've been thinking about.......ugh........selling one of my shotguns. ###In the past, I've sold a few of my personal firearms on consignment thru the local gun shop. ###Now that a gun shop can't sell a gun without a trigger lock, how would that work for a gun that is on consignment and not really theirs? ###Am I responsible for furnishing a trigger lock, or is it the buyers problem? Or, is a trigger lock even required when the transaction is between private partys?
I haven't talked to the gun shop yet, because I think I know what their answer would be. ###Anyway, thanks for any input. Also, if you would talk me out of selling, I would appreciate it.

I belive it is the responsibilty of the new buyer to provide the lock(must also have a recipt that is less than 30 days old for the lock) or sign the affidavid stating they have a safe that meets the DOJ requirements

freakin54.....Thanks for the input and welcome to the forum. As you can see, I'm rather new myself. Since I've been posting and lurking, I've found that this site has the greatest bunch of hunters around. Always willing to help and quite knowledgable.
Back to your input. Who would determine if the lock the buyer furnishes is approved by the King? OOPS! ###Sarcasm. My wife warned me about the attitude I've developed since Jan 1st. I guess this is where the dealer has to furnish some know-how. Again, thanks for the input.
