Just wondering what everyone likes to shoot.
I like to shoot them all, but it sounds funny, but I got board with trap, so I started shooting 5 stand & sporting clays. I can hit on the 5 stand a 17 to 20 and sporting clays around 15 to 17 clays, per 25 rounds:shootin:
Still have more practice to do to hit that 25 out of 25 mark, practice ,practice, practice post what you can hit

Well, how about after the coyote-o-rama and quail-o-rama up north, we try the skeet-o-rama? ###There's a really nice homey range ("homey" in the southern sense of the word not the LA gang scene) in Santa Clarita called Oak Tree Gun Club that has trap, skeet, 5 stand and sporting clays and is open until 11:00p at night. ###

A couple of buddies and I will head over there once all the fall/winter seasons are done. ###We'll put the kids to bed and head out from about 9-11p, shoot a few rounds and catch up on the weeks events. ###We get to the point where we go pretty much once a week during the summer. ###Friday nights are only $5/round.

Just a thought in case someone wants to meet the crew but can't make it to the coyote or quail hunts.

Sounds like a good idea. I'm told that they also put in a new pistol range with moving targets and pop-ups. That's also worth checking out.

How 'bout Triple B Sporting Clays (the old Pachmyer range) in Rosemead. It's centrally located to OC, the Inland Empire, West LA, SF Valley. Or maybe rotate clubs and set up an online tournament. One month at TripleB, another at Oak Tree, one at Rahaugees. We could post the scores online. If we rotate venues the locals don't have the advantage of knowing a home course to well, this applies to 5 stand and Sporting Clays of course.

Karstic, that is a good idea, so we can get more people involved from different parts of So.Cal.
Then we will need to plan a Central Ca. event sometime also.

Would anyone be interested in shooting in an informal tournament like I mentioned in an above post? Rotating through the different sporting clays courses in SoCal. How would you like a tournament to be set up if I were to put one together, any suggestions.

I'm planning on going to Oak Tree this Friday evening if anyone is interested. ###I think that they're 5 stand is lighted and you can shoot at night. ###If not, the trap and skeet fields are all lit until 11pm.

Who's in?

Songdog,
I was up there on the 19th, and I'm pretty sure the 5 stand was open. I know it does have lights, because I've shot it at night before. I will also try to make it this friday, as my knee is giving me a bit of trouble so I probably won't be chasing turkeys. Its really nice if you can get there right at 6:00. because you can usually get a round or two all to yourself. You can also get in a round of sporting clays before it gets dark.

Hey Karstic,

###I would be interested in any type of clay shooting gathering, whether for competition or just for the sake of shooting. Now that all of the pheasant farms are pretty much closed until September or October, I need whatever excuse I can get to go shoot. Let me know how interest is, I know I can get some people that I shoot with to join in.

I'm going to be fairly busy over the next few months. I'm getting married at the end of June and taking off a week in both July and August for our honeymoon trips. So, instead of setting up some sort of tournament I'll pick a Saturday out of each month and a place to shoot and try to have it posted up in the next couple of days. I know from my own experience that there will bee scheduling conflicts, thats why I'll pick a Saturday out for May through August. If enough people are interested in a weekend maybe we can do a BBQ. Hope to see some of you there!

I'll be at Oak Tree tonight at 8pm. ###I'm driving the red and white Bronco and I'll be wearing a green/brown Browning hat.

Hope to see some of you there.

OK I admit I bit off more than I could chew. This month I'll be shooting theQuail Unlimited National Shoot at Rahaugees (http://events.qu.org/events/nsc/nationalsportingclays.cfm). Who knows what I'll be doing next month.
