has anyone used any of the external balistic's program's from either RCBS or SIERRA ###and if so which is better in your opinion ### ###so cal hunter

I have both & like the Seirra program better But The RCBS is for sale if you want it. $25.00

You can download PointBlank for free. Has everything I want and actual results are very close to predicted results.

mtmngoat and sagebrush; thanks for the . reply and info . ithink i will try that program from pointblank and give it a try not to say that the rcbs or sierra programs are not good ###but this is free so why not . the rcbs program is $95.00 from rcbs and the sierra is $40 from them so whats the difference for the price difference? sierrs is in the Bullet busuness and rcbs is in the reloading die business it would seem that sierra might be bette? just a thought the reason i am interested in this is a have a long range 308 rifle ###with a springfield armory mildot scope with a range of 1000 meters and thought it might be helpful!!! ###thanks again

I think the RCBS has more data. from all the powder manufactuers but the Sierra is friendlier to use and in my opinion more useful. I have returned the Seirra disk for the upgrade I had one of the 1st generation disks when it came out on CD and you can't upgrade it from the Sierra web site ###so I had to return it for the full version.
