I have an Interarms .30-06 that was givin to me by my GF's dad. It is a sweet shooting gun. I was trying to locate them online to get some info/see if they still in business. ###I was unable to find them. ###Anyone know if they still make Firearms?

Interarms was a importer. ###I don't think they actually made any firearms themselves. ###You might have one of the "Mark X Mauser"s ###that they imported. ###As far as I know Interarms is no longer in business. ###In the past they imported Walther, Howa, Mauser, a lot of well known firearms that later set up their own operations in the U.S.

You're right. It is a Mark X. Didn't think that was the name brand thought it was the model.. Anyone have any info on the Mark X?

There are actually 2 slightly different versions of the Interarms Mark X. They were imported in the late 80's and early to mid 90's. I have the one manufactured by Whitworth in Manchester, England. They also sold ones manufactured in Yugoslavia. The Yugoslav ones will say "Zastava Yugoslavia" on the gun. The British ones have no indication of origin other than the location of Interarms at the time, I believe it was Alexandria. The British ones tend to be more desirable and harder to locate.

JBarn3 -
Sorry I did not get back to you sooner..
Yeah I checked it out. ###No markings other that "Interarms Mark X" on the rifle. ###After everyone's comments I asked Father-in-law about it. ###He said he bought it in the late 80's from a guy who needed some money and wanted to sell it. He paid $150.00 for it. (Try getting a deal like that today and you better make sure the gun isn't hot)###But, I love the gun. ###It shoots great.
The action was a little dry when I first got it and it hung-up when trying to eject the round. ###It had been sitting in the soft case in his closet for 10 years. He hadn't fired it since just after he bought it. A little cleaning and some lubrication and it works like a charm.
It shoots great. ###It has an old scope on it (circa 1988 when he bought the gun) but it still does the job.. just doesnt have any adjustment. ###
Its a beautiful weapon though, shoots great.. I wouldn't trade it for any new rifle.

Interarms was an importer of guns, they are history gone forever. ###I have a .380 that is Interarms auctually made by FEG of Hungary. Your rifle is probably a HOWA which aparently had some problems with some of their rifles. ###

JohnsIslandBoy, I havent been able to confirm it yet, but I was told by one of the guys at Turner's that the Mark X's are being imported again, by Charles Daly.
I just put a scope on mine, I picked up a Simmons 3-9x40 and sighted it in this weekend.

JBarn,
You have any idea who the manufactuer will be this time? ###I have actually considering buying a Charles Daly rifle. ###I will wait till this summer till I save up enough before I make my decision. ###I need to get a new scope for my Interamarm .30-06 but I have time till this season.

Charles Daly finally got their website back up, so I was able to check into the Mark X Mausers. They are indeed importing the rifles. Here is an excerpt from their site, http://www.charlesdaly.com

Charles Daly is proud to return to the US market, after being unavailable for several years, the superb Mauser bolt action rifle line, built by Zastava in Yugoslavia.
Exhibiting the finest European craftsmanship, these rifles have been carefully designed and built to recapture the time honored features and performance of the classic Mauser model 98. Built to embody what you expect from Charles Daly.

### Hey guys,
I have one of these rifles too. I've only fired it a few times. Can you load mulitple rounds in this gun? In the breech it looks like there's a spring loaded magazine, where you can push the rounds down into it. I can't figure it out. Can you help me?

Gr8Unknown, Welcome to the forum, I see you're another one of us from so-cal, looking forward to hearing more from you. Maybe we'll meet up at one of our varmint hunts.
About the rifle. Yes, I believe it's a 5 round, let me go check real quick.
Yep, The mag hold 5 rounds. It should load like just about any other bolt-action rifle. Set the cartridge in, all the way back, and push down. If yours won't accept cartridges, I would guess that It's just stiff and/or dirty. Maybe try soaking it down with some break-free CLP or something.

Thanks for the information on the rifle. I'll have to try it again. Everytime I've tried to load extra rounds into it, they just spring back out. I thought maybe I was missing a clip or something. I've never hunted with my rifle, only shot targets. I'll watch for any hunts if they come up.

Hey all, ###my dad has one of these, ###he loves it. ###He bought it maybe 20 years ago, new for under $200. ### It is a mauser action, controlled feed, etc. ### and yes, gr8Unknown, it should hold five rounds. ###Also, I think my dad's had an operable floor plate? ###I can't remember and I know I switched it out for him several years ago, when I put the action in a synthetic stock. ###But, it's a good and reiliable gun. ###you should enjoy it for years.

Yes, they do come with the drop plate and holds 5 rounds -- though when I am hunting I never load more than 3.. 1 in chamber and 2 in mag.. I dont belive you would be able to get off 5 shots before the deer were gone anyway .. so no need to unload extra rounds afterwards..
