I used to hunt at the Thermal Airport about 15 years ago, but that place has been closed for years. I've made a few calls to try and find other areas worth hunting in the Coachella Valley, but didn't come up with much. One biologist told me that there are good quail numbers way east along the Coachella Canal. He said the bigget problem with hunting the area is most of the land is privately owned farm land and its posted.
I stumbled upon the Dos Palmas website, and it looks like it would hold birds. If you shoot out there for the opener, please report back. I'll be out that way 11/3-5, and would enjoy an update. I'll be out on the Parker, AZ C.R.I.T. reservation this weekend for gambel's.

socalal,
I wont be heading up there for the opener, I am staying local this year. I might be heading up there for the pheasant opener. To do a little bit of a combo hunt. If I head down there I'll keep you posted.
