Hey, what general areas are good for quail around Lake Isabella and Ridgecrest ?

My son has a Pop Warner football game on the 28th up in Lake Isabella so we figure we'll make a weekend of it -- a weekend of football and hunting, I don't think it gets better than that. I hear the quail hunting is outstanding up there but I have absolutely no idea where to go. Some general guidance would be appreciated, I'm not looking for anyone's secret spot, just some guidance as to where it is legal to hunt and where I might get my boy on some quail.

'ppreciate it...

I haven't hunted there in years, but you might try east of the lake twards the pass. Also you might try 9 mile canyon.

I looked up the area around where I used to hunt and it is called Three Pines Canyon and Pilot Well. Heres a couple of pics of the area.

Hntnnut,
The detail on those pictures are great. Is that a website, computer program, Google Earth?
Thanks

If you want to go west side, we used to go west of 155, away from the lake and climb up past the residences....if you go high enough, there are mountain birds also. If you are really interested, send me a message and I can get a little more specific http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-cool-shades-down.gif
