I was thinking about buying some of the new cleanshot powder to use in my Knight 50 cal. ###Have any of you guys used it? ###What kind of accuracy did you get from it? ###Was it really as easy to clean after shooting as they advertise? ###Thanks in advance. ###Jim

Welcome Jim! Good to have you aboard. Did you see the thread already started about clean burning powders in muzzeloader forum? Might answer some questions. We are all just starting to experiment with them.

Hey Jim and Welcome to the forum. One thing about the clean shot I used it and liked it.But needed to be careful and not procrastinate its easy to clean but just as corosive as other powders.Got a little lazy bad mistake.

Jim in Illinois, ###I've never used anything but black powder. ###Once I chronograghed my rifle with reps from Hodgden Powder. ###They told me to stick with black powder because Pyrodex would cause my flintlock to hangfire. ###They lost a sale, but I thought that was pretty honest of them. ###I'm pretty much in the dark about anything else that's on the market now.

Clean shot seems to be gettin the best reviews so far. A volume for volume replacement (unlike hodgdon 7) And less messy than clear shot. I've seen some negative posts on clear shot in regards to fouling. Soon as it gets warmer I plan on trying out clean shot myself.

Hey all as I said I used it this year and really liked it.I used Barnes-X BULLETS 300 GRAIN with 110 grain powder charge(have mag rifle 150 max loads).
I sited it at 75 yards shot 21 times cleaned ever 3 rounds held a 1.5'' group.I like 75 yards the best can still see at that range.
Like I also said don't get lazy cleans well with one swipe of cleaner. But it is as corrosive as pyrdex and black powder.I found that out the hard way.

Thanks guys, that's what I was looking for. ###Russ, hope your "mistake" wasn't too bad. ###Jim
Its not real bad pitted my barrel in powder area could of been worse. It just that I try to take better care of my toys.I figured since it cleaned out so easy it would be ok to put cleaning off a little while.Wrong!
