shot placement

I've got a ruger M77 Mrk2 in a 30-06 I want to start pig hunting. I was wondering if this caliber will penetrate the skull and kill the pig. ###I was wondering if it is quick and humane and worh trying.

In my opinion the vital area of the head is much to small to be a target. ###The chances of wounding a pig are great. ###The heart/lung area is a much better target. ###A pigs brain is smaller than your fist. ###Can you hit a baseball consistently at 200 yards?

Baseball at 200 yds mabye once on a good day. ###If I hit the heart or the lungs wont alot of meat get blood shot and go bad.

I shot a pig in the head last time. It was running and I lead it a little to much. It dropped like a rock though.
Try for a heart/ lung shot. Do not wory about blood shot meat.
