nobody showed for what? the predator calling/hunting post you made earlier?

Was it a rancher/farmer needing some yotes removed? Offering to hunt predators for a rancher is a great way to get on a rancher's good side. Some ranchers here in Tx don't want to fool with the overhead/hassle of hunters, leases, etc. So if you can find a rancher that has an un-hunted ranch, and show him that you are responsible and eliminate some of his yotes for him, it makes asking for permission to hunt pretty easy. Not to mention it is free and can be some primo unhunted real estate.
