I need help training my lab

I have an 18 month old chocolate lab that i use for duck hunting, he minds very well but where i hunt there is no place for him to sit except in the water. He will not sit, only stand, therefore tiring him out after a while. Are there any tricks to make him sit in the water and stay?

misser, Try going back to the basics of sit and stay. Keep at it and he should come around. Getting him to sit is just a basic cammand that he should know, if he was taught that! if not keep at it and have lots of patients. Good Luck

Have the same problem with my dog he didnt like to sit in the water , mud no problem I figured it was a pressure thing with the water going up his but, try a swamp seat or tule seat there are a few plans for em , let me know and I can dig up the plans . if try a search in the waterfoul forum Jay had plans for a dog stool ,d
