Archery Elk Unit 111-222

Can anyone offer me some advice on this unit? I have maps on the way. I'll be the only nonresident there. The other NR tag was drawn by a guy that just moved to Vegas.

I was told the rut doesn't kick in until about 9/5. I plan on hunting 9/1-9/15. Thanks.

Good Tag,for sure.2 N.R. tags ??? in 2005 there was 7 !!! Don't forget to look in 114,as few will.Between 4mile and 8 mile crks,"On Top".

Got My archery bull in 231 in "05".Make sure to check before You shoot as MANY bulls in Your unit groups may be "Broken" Good Luck

I was just told there were only 2 NR tags. Last year the NR tags were way up due to the USO lawsuit deal. There were at least double. So between that and a slight quota drop 2 tags doesn't sound wrong.

I know Randy Ulmer shot his big bull in the wilderness portion of unit 114. Supposed to be a lower bull population, but obviously good potential for a bull to get old.

I've taken two decent bulls previously, 330" & 340" and have quite a bit of DIY elk hunting experience for an easterner. I will hold out.
