Vermont Public Television's "Outdoor Journal" Schedule for June

WATERBURY, VT - Be sure to watch the new "Outdoor Journal" TV shows produced by Vermont Public Television to be aired in June. The show specializes in portraying a wide variety of outdoor recreation that can be enjoyed by almost anyone who lives in Vermont.

A "Conservation Corner" segment in the show also depicts a fisheries or wildlife project being done by the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department.

Tuesday June 6 -- 7:30 p.m.--VPT's Outdoor Journal
Lawrence Pyne goes bow fishing for carp, bowfin and long nose gar in the shallow waters of Missisquoi Bay on Lake Champlain; Marianne Eaton gets a sailing lesson from the experts at the Lake Champlain Yacht Club in Shelburne, Vt.


Tuesday June 20 -- 7:30 p.m. -- VPT's Outdoor Journal
Lawrence Pyne goes moose hunting in New Hampshire; Marianne Eaton experiences the thrill of bobsledding on the track in Lake Placid, N.Y.

Tuesday June 27 -- 7:30 -- VPT's Outdoor Journal
Lawrence Pyne joins Randy Colomb of Waltham, Vt., for a day of open water winter fishing for salmon on Lake Champlain; fisheries biologists trawl portions of Lake Champlain each summer to estimate the population of forage fish, the primary source of food for walleye, salmon and lake trout. Marianne Eaton tries snow kiting on the frozen surface of Lake Champlain.
