Day 3 here in SoCal. Still lots of people walking around in shock and disbelief. I had to drive into L.A. today to set up some emergency equipment and I saw US flags flying everywhere, even the barrios of east L.A. which is controlled by gangs. It felt good to see the flags on the cars and buildings.

I wasn't real keen on going near the tall government buildings in L.A. CHP and other vehicles blocked direct access to all of the buildings. Most of the government buildings were shut down and an armed presence was felt everywhere.

The skies have been eerily empty except for an occassional military jet overhead. This afternoon I heard the first radio traffic on my scanner from LAX which has reopened.

I stopped and watched a TV for a bit at lunch, it's so sad to see all the stories about the families who were called by people in the towers and on the airplanes. I also thought of several friends who are still in the military and who are now on long flights to Europe and the middle east for our response to this attack on our homeland. I listened to our president talk candidly on the radio about how we will perservere.

How was day 3 where you live?
