For probably about 15 years now, I've watched news reports on how laxed our airport security is. ###How anyone can just get in and walk around. ###How the FAA conducts tests every year and close to 60% of those trying to get through with a weapon or false credentials make it with no problems. ###I've wondered all these years why they don't fix the problem.
For about 13 years, I've known about the restricted air space above the capital but no active patrols of fighters exist. ###I've wondered why we don't have fighter patrols over our nation's air space just in case.
For about 10 years, I've watched air rage become an increasing problem and heard stories of hijackings around the world. ###I'd always wondered why there wasn't any type of security guard on board to take care of problems.
Now, for the next few years, I'm sure these things I've wondered about will come to pass. ###But will the next generation or the one after that forget that we are vulnerable to attack at all times? ###We will always have enemies. ###What has led us to have to relearn the lesson learned by those in 1941? ###
If anything, we should make it a point to remind our children and grandchildren about this day and let them know that if the nation reduces the military and becomes apathetic because no enemy is apparent, you open yourself up to attack. ###We, like the WWII generation have learned a lesson by paying a tuition too high to conceive. ###Let's not allow the future citizens of America pay such a high cost.
God bless our children and grandchildren.
God bless America. ###
