We last left our superhero Rodney about a month ago when he lost his car in Claremont California and was arrested for being under the influence of PCP, AGAIN.
By my count, Rodney has just tied the legendary Leon Spinks for most arrests in a 5 year period. Rodney will surely have to pick up his game if he is to catch long time career arrest leader, Mike Tyson.
This week's episode of the never ending Rodney saga.
POMONA, Calif. (Reuters) - Rodney King, the black motorist whose videotaped beating by Los Angeles police officers sparked riots in 1992, has been arrested for the second time in little more than a month.
King was arrested in Pomona, east of Los Angeles, on Saturday and booked on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and indecent exposure, Sgt. Gordon Jones of the Pomona police said on Sunday.
Jones said his arrest came after police were called by visitors to a local park following a ``disturbance.'' He was released on Sunday morning on $2,500 bail.
King was arrested on Aug. 28, 2001 in neighboring Claremont. He is due to appear in court on Tuesday to be arraigned on a misdemeanor drug charge in connection with the Claremont arrest.
King led Los Angeles police on a high-speed chase in 1991 and was beaten by officers after he stopped his vehicle. A videotape of the beating provoked public outrage. When the police officers involved were acquitted of state charges a year later, rioting erupted in Los Angeles, leaving some 50 people dead.
Since then, King has had a number of brushes with the law including a conviction for drunken driving and spousal abuse.
