Anybody watch HBO's series "Band of Brothers?" It's about the newly formed 506th infantry paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne who jumped into France on D-Day. Easy Company, as they are called, is the main group in the series. They do some of their training at Fort Mackall Georgia, which is where the SF troops still train today.

The show has pretty good special effects to make it look and sound like you are in the action, which is typical ######Steven Spielberg directing.

In the jump though, it looked like the actors jumped off chairs when they landed, those were some of the softest PLFs I've ever seen. The other hokey part was right after the 2 soldiers are on the ground they're walking around talking in a normal voice with German soldiers everywhere. They cover their lights up with a poncho to read maps (light discipline), but they walk around like that with no noise discipline?

They do some interviews with the real soldiers who actually did the jump and fought across Europe which is really kewl during the intermission.

Part II is Sunday 9pm PST/ 8 central on HBO.
