I wouldn't recommend a Hide-A-Key, first thing I would do if I wanted to steal a vehicle would be check underneath for one. Easiest way to start a car is with the key and no broken window or steering column shaft to alert the coppers. If you do want to stash a spare key, take just the key and tie wrap it to inside of a tail light lens or somewhere no one can find it easily. DO NOT put it on the frame or where it's gonna be found. Carry 2 keys, one on your keyring and stash another in your pack. You have to be careful with the new vehicles with the side airbags and using slim jims on them, you can trigger that air bag real easy, fireman are no longer allowed to use their slim jims because of that. Most tow guys and fireman use the wedge and air pump dealio now to push the door frame out enough to grab the door handle.
