JHO/Tejon Pig Hunt Scheduled

For the fifth year in a row, JHO members, friends, and family will gather at

Tejon boar
High success rates and good friends make the annual JHO Tejon Ranch Pig-o-Rama an awesome event!
California's Tejon Ranch for two and a half days of wild hog hunting and mingling with the fellowship of hunters from around the country. This year's event will take place over the weekend of May 22-24.

This hunt is modeled after the Tejon Ranch's regular wild pig management hunts, where up to 50 hunters will gather and camp on the premises, scattering each day across nearly 100,000 acres of prime California countryside. The hunting is unguided, and each hunter is allowed to take one hog over the long weekend for a cost of $450 ($250 for junior hunters). Success rates are generally high, with previous JHO hunts averaging better than 50%.

A key aspect of this event is the opportunity for novice pig hunters to get out and experience the sport in prime wild pig habitat. Experienced hunters in the group are always available to assist the new hunters, from providing general tips, to directing them to good areas, to actually assisting in the hunt itself. Many hunters have taken their first wild pig during these events, and several of those have come back in consecutive years to assist other novices.

Hog hunters interested in participating in this event can find more details in the JHO Hog Hunting Forum.
