Hunting In Comfort on the Hunt Comfort Cushion

Versatility. That sums up the Hunt Comfort line of hunting cushions for me. But I digress; the cushion itself is a nice and comfortable addition to any hunting stand.

The Hunt Comfort Cushion
No more numb backside after a long day on the stand... that's one big thing the author noticed when he tried out the Fatboy Litelog cushion from Hunt Comfort.
Coming in a variety of sizes, they have a cushion for just about every situation. These aren’t your typical foam pad seats you see at most of the major retailers. They have been designed to give you maximum comfort by distributing the weight that is applied. Made out with a Polymer Gel and Comfort-TEX fabric, they are scientifically tested to ensure you get the most comfort out of the cushion. This will help to keep you in the blind longer due to the relaxation of your backside not becoming numb after five minutes of sitting on it.

I was fortunate enough to be able to try out two different models of the Hunt Comfort family of products. I had the Fatboy Lite and the Climb-on. The Fatboy Lite is a general size cushion that will fit about most any normal chairs. The Climb-on is designed for the climbing tree stands. When I first got them in, I opened the box and immediately put one in my computer chair. I enjoy online gaming and have been known on occasion to sit and play games for several hours. I was impressed right off the bat as I sat in the Fatboy Lite for about two hours and was coherent of just how comfortable this hunting cushion was.

The next chance I was able to try it out was during a hunt down at the deer lease. It was toward the end of the rifle season, but I wanted to try it out in my hunting blind. My fortunate buddy Pat was loaned the Climb-on for his small seat while I hoarded the Fatboy Lite for mine. I sat patiently all morning, looking out into the woods and the pasture looking for that elusive ten point we had camera pictures of. To no avail, but one thing I did notice, was that it was probably one of the most comfortable waits I had had in several seasons. My backside never became numb and for the first time since I could remember, I didn’t have to get up and stretch out every fifteen minutes or so.

Upon arriving back at deer camp I almost had to pry the other cushion away from Pat. He seemed to enjoy it and made several comments of how it was the best cushion he had ever used for hunting. I did ask him if he had any suggestions, as the folks at Hunt Comfort are always looking for ways to improve their product. Unfortunately, he couldn’t think of any, but did mention his birthday would be coming up the following year. Our other buddy Tim on the lease looked it over quite extensively too, but was not allowed to borrow either for a tryout.

The next time I was able to try them out was during a fishing trip. Yes they are considered a hunting cushion, but they work well in a small aluminum bass boat with the bolt on swivel seats. My buddy Dale and I had trekked off to go give the new Yamamoto Senko’s a try and I threw the cushions in the back seat just in case. Fortunately for me, that was a smart move. We made it to the pond and the seats we were to sit in had no cushions. Now I am not a small fellow, and sitting in a hard boat seat for several hours wasn’t my idea of fun. But with the Hunt Comfort cushions, the problem was solved. We used them for the full four hours we were on the pond without any issues. It sure made fishing a lot more comfortable.

Next time you are in the need for a cushion, check out the Hunt Comfort line of hunting cushions. They are versatile and comfortable. While a little more expensive than the fifteen dollar models you find at Wal-Mart or other sporting good store, it is well worth the extra cost. They also provide a three year warranty on their product that is made in the USA. They also have a design for disabled hunters using a wheel chair. So check out these fine hunting cushions. Your backside will thank you for it.
