Staying in shape in the off season

Simple system - Mini-Step
A compact, but effective way to keep in shape during the off-season.
Although hunting is a passion for me, I am not in a position to make a living at it. My “day job” is teaching middle school music full time. Running a middle school music program definitely keeps me busy during the school year, so my opportunities to head to the hills and hike around are limited. In spite of the busy schedule, I still need to keep my body in shape for climbing the steep hills during hunting season.

The Sharper Image “Mini Step & Flex 2.0” has turned out to be a great way to fit some exercise and training in to my schedule. The unit is small and easy to store, yet sturdy and built for long life. It's easy to step on and climb a hill for 15 minutes a couple of times a day. Longer climbs aren't recommended due to heat build-up in the shocks.

The range of motion isn't great, but the fixed resistance is just right and I can feel the targeted muscle groups in my legs working during climbing sessions. The elastic chords add to the workout making numerous arm and shoulder workouts possible. The option of either separate handles, or a cross bar provide for independent, or joined arm motion.

An LCD display keeps track of minutes, strides and burned calories providing info regarding the benefit of each work out. For those of you who have limited time to get out and grind the hills, the “Mini Step and Flex 2.0” by The Sharper Image might just be your ticket to higher elevations in 2008.
