Outdoor Photographer's Christmas List

When asked this year what I wanted for Christmas, my list overflowed with photography gear. Below I've listed some valuable items along with descriptions and prices. These items can add significant value to the final product and make the hobby of taking photos much more enjoyable.
Bino-Flex from Crooked Horn The Bino-Flex system is the ideal way to carry optics in the field. |
1.) Crooked horn flex bino system. First and foremost, the number one item on the Christmas list is the Crooked Horn flex bino system. The flex bino system allows uncharted freedoms while carrying and using binoculars and cameras while outdoors. This item will be a staple for the members in my family who carry optics out into the field. The flex bino system sells for 20 dollars and can be found right here in the JHO store.
Spudz Lens Cloth Take care of your optics, and they'll take care of you. Spudz puts a quality lens cloth in easy reach. |
2.)Lens cloth. If you are looking to get mom or dad something while on a budget, look into getting them a silk lens cloth. A silk lens cloth safely and effectively removes dust, dirt, and oil from your fingers from your scope, binoculars, camera lenses, and glasses. Put away the shirt tail, the cotton will scratch and degrade the quality of your high caliber optics. Silk lens cloths can be purchased online in the JHO store for $4.99.
3.)Memory cards. The hobbyist photographer can always use a little more storage when taking photos. Extra memory cards will allow a little more freedom until the next mass storage resource, such as computer or online photo storage, will be available. Adequate capacity can usually be found for around 35 dollars.
4.)Telephoto zoom. If you are looking to get closer close-ups on wildlife, take a look at a quality telephoto lens to extend the capabilities of your digital camera. Many digital cameras can add a telephoto by using an adaptor tube or lens ring. Telephotos can cost around 100 dollars.
Sony Picture Station Make prints from your digital camera as good as film! |
5.)Sony Picture Station. If you are looking for the ultimate photo novelty item, look no further. The Sony Picture Station is a compact 4x6 photo printer that delivers photo lab quality prints in the comfort of your own home. DeskJet printers have been printing digital photos for years, but that technology is archaic when compared to Sony’s dye sublimation process that brings the technology of a professional photo lab right to your desktop. The dye sublimation process melts ink onto the photograph to produce a high caliber photo without the dots, lines, and pixilation of the dots per inch (dpi) technology. This tool comes in handy when setting up a photo album or generating photos on the fly for family members or guests at your next get together. Sony’s dye sublimation printer can be purchased for 170 dollars.
