Hey there Georgia JHO'ers,

My girlfriend and I are visiting the lovely city of Savannah June 4-8. The purpose of the trip is to see my brother and his family while he is home on leave from Afghanistan.

My girlfriend has never fired anything on full auto ('cept maybe me http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-rolleyes-green.gif ) and I'd like to take advantage of Georgia's fine firearms laws that allow residents to own Class III weapons. If anybody near Savannah, or between Savannah and Charleston SC, would like to show off their toys for an out-of-state visitor, we'd be very appreciative of the opportunity (and we'll buy the ammo and post-shoot beers).

Cheers, Backcountry

p.s. Yes, we are aware that Savannah is going to be full of dirty stinking hippy anarchist rat-bastards there to protest the G8 summit at the same time we are visiting. Thankfully, I have a Florida CCW permit, which is recognized by Georgia, and I'll be able to protect myself should dirty hippies or terrorists decide to mess with my vacation.

I talked to my brother today and he said so far only a smattering of dirtbags have shown up in Savannah... the real festering bleeding-heart blathering and accompanying CS gas grenades probably won't begin until next week when we are headed back to our own crazy state of Kalifornistan. Let's hope...

So far, no one has bit on the machine gun thing... maybe we'll just go to a range and rent one for kicks... the girlfriend's kicks really, I've shot plenty of 'em before, and my brother ventilates Muslims with them for a living when he's not in Savannah. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-bowdown-purple.gif http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-bowdown-purple.gif http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smiley-bowdown-purple.gif

Our vacation schedule, besides catching up with my bro and his family, includes a minor league baseball game, Bass Pro Shops shopping extravaganza, aligator watching somewhere out in the marshes, "real" southern BBQ, boiled peanuts, and plenty of Southern Hospitality.

We're packing (our bags) right now and taking the red-eye tonight (yes, the security system will be on here at Ft. Backcountry).

Your brother assigned to 1/75?

Nope, 3/160 Special Ops Aviation... he frequently has the 75th guys as passengers though...

Man is it muggy here... compared to California...

Going to see my nephew's karate class in a few hours then it's time to take inventory at Bass Pro Shops... whoo!

Threw rocks at aligators in the swamp yesterday which wasn't bad...
