Governor Perdue to Hold Press Conference to Announce Major Land Conservation Projects


Atlanta, Georgia - Governor Sonny Perdue and Speaker Glenn Richardson will hold a press conference to announce major land conservation projects,

(parking at Friendship Baptist Church, and shuttle service to Corley Lake)


Members of the media have two options for transportation. Media can drive separately to the event, park at Friendship Baptist Church, and take a quick shuttle, or they can ride directly to the event location in a van provided by the Governor's Press Office, departing from the State Capitol building.

Driving Directions:

Due to limited space and parking, members of the media who choose to drive separately must park at Friendship Baptist Church. Shuttles will then be provided from Friendship Baptist Church to the announcement site, approximately a five minute ride. Television media in satellite trucks can meet at Friendship Baptist Church and can follow shuttles to the site.

Driving Directions from Atlanta to Friendship Baptist Church in Paulding County:

-Take I-20 west to Exit 44 (Thornton Road/Hwy 278) towards Austell

-From the interstate, go approximately 17 miles to Dallas

-At the intersection of Hwy 278 and GA-61 turn right onto GA-61/Nathan Dean Blvd.

-Go 0.7 and turn left onto GA-61/Merchants Drive.

-Go 1 mile and turn right onto GA-61/North Confederate Avenue

-Follow GA-61 for 6.8 miles and turn left onto Braswell Mountain Rd.

-Go 5.4 miles and Friendship Baptist Church will be on your left

Van Pool:

A van will be available to transport media from Atlanta to the event. The van will depart from the Mitchell Street side of the State Capitol at 12:30 p.m. To ride in the van please R.S.V.P. by noon on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 by calling the Governor's Press Office at 404-651-7774.
